Striking Desert Plants for Your Water-Wise Projects
Spanish Daggers are native to South and West Texas. Our varieties are wild-harvested in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. These trees range from 5–12 ft. tall and are usually multiheaded.
Native to West Texas, our Rostratas have been field grown. Part of the trunk is trimmed, but a fair amount of “beard” is left at harvest. The fragile fronds are secured prior to shipment.
Native to Central and Northern Mexico, these Agaves are true desert inhabitants. These trees will tolerate temperature extremes in South and Central Texas and any soil type as long as it is well drained. Our varieties are field grown specimens.
Dasylirion is a slow growing, drought tolerant, easy care plant. It is an evergreen with long, serrated leaves on a stout short trunk. Although a xeriscape plant, Dasylirion can tolerate more water as long as it is growing in well-drained soil. Flowering only occurs every few years with tiny flowers spread along 15 tall spikes. This is a great addition to any water-wise or tropical design.
Spineless Sotol is a dasylirion with light-green, grass-like leaves. They form a spherical head consisting of hundreds of leaves that leave the trunk in a symmetrical manner. This is the most user-friendly dasylirion and the perfect choice when planting along high traffic walkways. Add some to all your water-wise designs

Also known as Mexican Tree Yucca, this is a tough, drought-tolerant, deer resistant plant. Ours are very slow growing and after 7 years, most remain single trunked. One striking characteristic is the swirl of leaves placed around the stout trunk. They remain green almost to the base of the plant and contain fibrous hairs spilling from the leaf edges. This yucca is an unique addition to any water-wise project
